At the end

One day I will look back

In to the eyes of the old me

Or in that case, the young me

And I’ll regret some things I did

And I’ll complain for what I didn’t

For not jumping higher

For not running faster

For not fighting harder

One day I will miss the strength

And I will shout but my voice won’t come out

The beating of my heart will make a louder sound

For one day I’ll start becoming less of me

And start turning into more like them

Before my three hundred years expire

And the color in my eyes start turning pale

And the meat in my bones start to decay

I want to wear myself out

To take my body to the limit and way far

And maybe when that last day come

I’ll look back with my pale eyes in to my fierce eyes

And feel proud of the flame that burned with desire

And I’ll close my eyes and let the earth take my bones

And my soul… fly to the sky and shine like the sun

Breaking up… with my dog

There was I,
standing on my two weak legs,
nervous, sad… Petrified.
My face was red and warm,
my eyes covered in shiny layers of tears,
my hands uncontrollably shaking
as I caress her brown and heavy head.
Her expression was stiff, confused,
she didn’t understand what was going on
but she knew there was something going on.

I fell to my knees and hold her head,
I got my face closer to her cold nose,
she felt that she had to comfort me
and ran her rough tongue around my cheeks.
I couldn’t hold the tears anymore,
as I crumble, weeping on her shoulder,
I felt her sadness taking over too,
desperate to make me feel better
rubbed my head with her big paws
and licked my hair and my tears.
This is good bye.

I got up, wiped the sadness from my eyes,
caught my trembling voice and breathed.
I pet her head one last time and walked away,
she tried to follow, until I got on the car.
her big wet eyes fixed in me as she tilted her head,
I heard her whining softly asking me to stay,
I know she understood then.
This is good bye.

I had to leave her,
I had to pursuit a better life
And she was not allowed to come,
I had to do better for both of us,
but I can’t ever say good bye to the pain
that caused me breaking up with my dog.
